Description
What you get
Two files, the moment you pay.
The deck (.html) — one self-contained file that opens in any browser. No app, no account, no sign-in, and it keeps working with no signal once it has loaded. Search it by what the fish actually did, filter it, or read it straight through.
The print set (.pdf) — 52 pages, Letter size, laid out so the cards survive being cut apart and carried in the box.
Yours to keep. No subscription, no expiry on the download links, and no limit on how many times you download them. Updates are free — you are buying the deck, not one version of the file.
A follow is not a failed cast
It is the most information a fish has given you all day, and most anglers throw it away inside ninety seconds by opening the tackle box.
The standard answer to a fish that follows and will not eat is an ordered list of five things to change — depth, speed, size, sound, color — with no way of telling which one is live. So people change all five, sometimes catch a fish, and learn nothing they can repeat next Saturday. This deck starts from the other end: the fish has already told you half the answer, and the shape of the refusal tells you which half.
What is in it
11 follow cards. Refusals are not one event. A fish that turns at your feet, a fish that hangs six feet back, a fish that veers off inside the final foot, a fish that swipes and misses, a fish that nudges without eating, a fish that stops following the moment you changed something — these have told you completely different things. Every card ends the same way: a ledger split into what the follow has settled and what is still live.
10 test cards. Single-variable separators — the pause at the moment of the follow, the cast angle, time in the zone, one size down, the turn, the kill, the connection, speed run in both directions, and how to read the second follow rather than waiting for an eat. Each one ends in a result table that says what every outcome means and where to go next, including the outcomes where nothing happens.
6 species cards. The species changes the answer more than the tackle does. A musky tracking to the boat and a bluegill inspecting a nymph are not the same event and do not want the same response.
1 stop card. Some fish were never going to eat. A deck that never says so would be selling you an afternoon you cannot have.
How it works outside
Eight original diagrams, drawn for a phone screen in bright light. It opens in any browser and keeps working when the signal stops — nothing loads from anywhere once you have it. There is also a 52-page print set, laid out so the cards survive being cut apart and carried in the box.
Every card points at the Hook instrument that goes deeper on it. The deck is the decision; the tools do the arithmetic.
What it is not
No lure recommendations. No hotspots, marks or coordinates. No bite scores and no guarantees. Where the honest answer is that the fish was never going to eat, the card says so.
